PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS

PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS

HE'S  MY  ROCK!

(The Lord is my Strength and my Shield - Psalm 28:7)

HE'S MY FORTRESS

(The Lord Lives!  Praise be to my Rock!  Exalted be God my Savior! - Psalm 18:46)

HE'S MY DELIVERER

IN HIM WILL I TRUST

PRAISE THE NAME OF JESUS

(God is our Refuge and Strength, a Very Present Help in Trouble - Psalm 46:1)

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church.
He is the Beginning, the First Born from the dead
that in everything He might be preeminent.                  Colossians 1:18

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the Heavenly places in Christ   .    .             Ephesians 1:3

The mystery which has been hidden from ages
and from generations, but now has been
revealed to His saints.  To them God willed
to make known what are the riches of the glory
of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is
Christ in you, the hope of glory.                                   Colossians 1: 26 & 27

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those
things which are above, where Christ is,
sitting at the right hand of God.  Set your
mind on things above, not on things on the
earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden
with Christ in God.  When Christ Who is our
life appears, then you also will appear with
Him in glory.                                                                    Colossians 3: 1-4

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and
beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness,
humility, meekness, longsuffering;
bearing with one another, and forgiving
one another, if anyone has a complaint
against another; even as Christ forgave
you, so you also must do.  But above
all these things put on love, which is the
bond of perfection.  And let the peace of
God rule in your hearts, to which also you
were called in one body; and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly
in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing
one another in psalms and hymns and
spiritual songs, singing with grace in your
hearts to the Lord.  And whatever you do
in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the
Father through Him.                                                       Colossians 3: 12-17

SUFFERING AND TRIALS OF LIFE: ARE THEY A BLESSING OR A CURSE?

GOD'S BLESSING AND MERCY

A person who is 35 years old probably prays differently at age 35 than when they were 14 years old.

A person who is 72 years old probably prays differently at age 72 than when they were 26 years old.

This could be partly due to the amount of life experience a person has had, and perspective gained.

BY FAITH, I BELIEVE:

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know WHAT we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

BY FAITH, I BELIEVE:

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

BY FAITH, I BELIEVE:

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."

BY FAITH, I BELIEVE:

"Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect.  Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?  For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.  Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."

Part of understanding Blessings from our Heavenly Father is well communicated, I believe, in this wonderful song by Laura Story, called 'Blessings'.

I pray this song ministers to your heart.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

The Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed --- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.  For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?  As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."  Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore we do not lose heart.  Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.  For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not see.  For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.

That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.  Death no longer has dominion over Him.  For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.  Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.  And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be pefect and complete, lacking nothing.

Though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, Whom having not seen you love.

But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.  For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth, Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness --- by Whose stripes you were healed.

But even is you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed.  And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.  For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit  .      .           .

Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.  Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.  If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God

Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.  But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

For it was fitting for Him, for Whom are all things and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Captain of their Salvation perfect through sufferings.  For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

In the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

And He took Peter, James and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.  Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death.  Stay here and watch with Me."

Heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
