SING HALLELUJAH TO THE LORD

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
                Revelation 19:6

Praise the LORD.
   Praise God in His sanctuary;
   Praise Him in His mighty heavens.
Praise Him for His acts of power;
   Praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,
   Praise Him with the harp and lyre,
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing,
   Praise Him with the strings and pipe,
Praise Him with the clash of cymbals,
   Praise Him with resounding cymbals.

Let everything that has breath Praise the LORD.
   Praise the LORD.
                Psalm 150

BE STILL MY SOUL

    As the deer pants for the water brooks,
         So pants my soul for You, O God.

   My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
         When shall I come and appear before God?
  My tears have been my food day and night,
         While they continually say to me,
         “Where is your God?”

 When I remember these things,
         I pour out my soul within me.
         For I used to go with the multitude;
         I went with them to the house of God,
         With the voice of joy and praise,
         With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
         And why are you disquieted within me?
         Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
         For the help of His countenance.

 O my God, my soul is cast down within me;
         Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,
         And from the heights of Hermon,
         From the Hill Mizar.

  Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
         All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
         And in the night His song shall be with me—
         A prayer to the God of my life.

  I will say to God my Rock,
         “Why have You forgotten me?
         Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
  As with a breaking of my bones,
         My enemies reproach me,
         While they say to me all day long,
         “Where is your God?”

    Why are you cast down, O my soul?
         And why are you disquieted within me?
         Hope in God;
         For I shall yet praise Him,
         The help of my countenance and my God.

ANCIENT OF DAYS

I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool.  His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire;

CHRIST MADE ALL THINGS

By faith, I believe Christ made all things  .   .   .  I believe what the Bible says about WHO created or made all things is accurate and I believe that "without Him nothing was made that was made".

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
                John 1:1-3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
                Genesis 1:1

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
                Genesis 1:3

Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
                Genesis 1:6

Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.
                Genesis 1:9

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
                Genesis 1:11

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.
                Genesis 1:14-15

Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.  He made the stars also.
                Genesis 1:16

Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above
the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind.
                Genesis 1:20-21

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.
                Genesis 1:24

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;  .  .  .  So God created man in His Own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
                Genesis 1:26, 27

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
                Genesis 2:7

Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
                Genesis 2:22

Think about the one thing that you have put the majority of your personal effort, passion, time, work and desire into; the one thing that you take the greatest pride in, up to now in your life.  Is it your education?  Is it the quality of your relationships?  Is it your purposeful work as a parent?  Is it a significant business or financial accomplishment?  Perhaps you have achieved outstanding success in sports.  Maybe you are an artist.  Perhaps you are gifted in using your hands and you are very creative.  Perhaps you have written some outstanding works.

What is the greatest accomplishment in your life, so far?

Now, think about how you would feel if other people explained this 'work', to which you had committed the majority of your life, by describing it as an 'accident', or the result of several 'random events', or as having come about through 'natural selection', or that your accomplishment was, in fact, the 'work' or accomplishment of some other person?

And, as a part of their explanation, regarding your greatest personal accomplishment, others specifically denied you the credit for what you had achieved; credit which was rightly yours.

Honestly, how would you feel?

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE - THE WONDROUS WORKS OF CHRIST

"GOD OF WONDERS"
<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/t7F-B2DLvAQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

"For He looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole heaven; To make the weight for the winds; and He weighs the waters by measure."
                Job 28:24-25

Air actually has weight.  The two fluids of air and water forming earth's atmosphere and hydrosphere are both weighed by God's careful measure to provide the right worldwide balance of forces for life on earth.

"Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of Him which is perfect in knowledge?"
                Job 37:16

Clouds are composed of liquid drops of water, not water vapor, and water is heavier than air, so how are they balanced in the sky?

"For He makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distill upon man abundantly"
                Job 36:27-28

Meteorologists know that the weight of the small water droplets in the clouds is balanced by the weight of the winds -- air rushing upward in response to temperature changes. Eventually, however, the droplets coalesce to form larger drops which overcome these updrafts and fall as rain.

"By watering He wearies the thick cloud"
                Job 37:11

The coalescence is probably triggered electrically in the clouds themselves.

"When He made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder"
                Job 28:26

"Lo, these are parts of His ways: but how little a portion is heard of Him? But the thunder of His power who can understand?"
                Job 26:14

"Ah Lord GOD! behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for You"
                Jeremiah 32:17

God did create the cosmos in all its macroscopic complexity and all the living kinds with their microscopic complexity.

"I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?"
                Jeremiah 32:27

"He that planted the ear, shall He not hear?  He that formed the eye, shall He not see?"
                Psalm 94:9

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork"
                Psalm 19:1

"Who knows not in all these that the hand of the LORD has done this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind"
                Job 12:9-10

"The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life"
                Job 33:4

He "rides upon the heavens of heavens"
                Psalm 68:33

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind.
                Psalm 104:3

And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.
                Psalm 18:10

"The LORD has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet".
                Nahum 1:3

"I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom I wanted.
                Jeremiah 27:5

"The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness of it".
                Psalm 24:1

"The LORD has made all things for Himself".
                Proverbs 16:4

"And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. . . . And God called the firmament Heaven"
                Genesis 1:6, 8

This firmament obviously could not be a solid boundary above the sky, but is essentially the atmosphere.

The "first heaven," the "space" where the birds were to "fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven"
                Genesis 1:20

"And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth"
                Genesis 1:17

All three heavens "declare the glory of God" and all three firmaments "show His handiwork"
                Psalm 19:1

Therefore, we should "praise God in His sanctuary" and also "praise Him in the firmament of His power"
                Psalm 150:1

“Behold, God is great, and we do not know HimNor can the number of His years be discovered.  For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man.  Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, the thunder from His canopy?  Look, He scatters His light upon it, and covers the depths of the sea.  For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance.  He covers His hands with lightning, and commands it to strike.  His thunder declares it, the cattle also, concerning the rising storm.
                Job 36: 26-33

“At this also my heart trembles,
      And leaps from its place.
 Hear attentively the thunder of His voice,
      And the rumbling that comes from His mouth.
 He sends it forth under the whole heaven,
      His lightning to the ends of the earth.
 After it a voice roars;
      He thunders with His majestic voice,
      And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard.
 God thunders marvelously with His voice;
      He does great things which we cannot comprehend.
 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’;
      Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.
 He seals the hand of every man,
      That all men may know His work.
 The beasts go into dens,
      And remain in their lairs.
 From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind,
      And cold from the scattering winds of the north.
 By the breath of God ice is given,
      And the broad waters are frozen.
 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds;
      He scatters His bright clouds.
 And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance,
      That they may do whatever He commands them
      On the face of the whole earth.
 He causes it to come,
      Whether for correction,
      Or for His land,
      Or for mercy.
 “Listen to this, O Job;
      Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.
 Do you know when God dispatches them,
      And causes the light of His cloud to shine?
 Do you know how the clouds are balanced,
      Those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
 Why are your garments hot,
      When He quiets the earth by the south wind?
 With Him, have you spread out the skies,
      Strong as a cast metal mirror?
 “Teach us what we should say to Him,
      For we can prepare nothing because of the darkness.
 Should He be told that I wish to speak?
      If a man were to speak, surely he would be swallowed up.
 Even now men cannot look at the light when it is bright in the skies,
      When the wind has passed and cleared them.
 He comes from the north as golden splendor;
      With God is awesome majesty.
 As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him;
      He is excellent in power,
      In judgment and abundant justice;
      He does not oppress.
 Therefore men fear Him;
      He shows no partiality to any who are wise of heart.”
                Job 37

You Who laid the foundations of the earth, so that it should not be moved forever.
                Psalm 104:5

 When He established the clouds above,
      When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
 When He assigned to the sea its limit,
      So that the waters would not transgress His command,
      When He marked out the foundations of the earth,
 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
      And I was daily His delight,
      Rejoicing always before Him
                Proverbs 8:28-30

And you forget the LORD your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth
                Isaiah 51:13

 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?
      Tell Me, if you have understanding.
   Who determined its measurements?
      Surely you know!
      Or who stretched the line upon it?
   To what were its foundations fastened?
      Or who laid its cornerstone,
   When the morning stars sang together,
      And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
 “Or who shut in the sea with doors,
      When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
 When I made the clouds its garment,
      And thick darkness its swaddling band,
  When I fixed My limit for it,
      And set bars and doors;
  When I said,
     ‘This far you may come, but no farther,
      And here your proud waves must stop!’
  “Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
      And caused the dawn to know its place,
  That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
      And the wicked be shaken out of it?
  It takes on form like clay under a seal,
      And stands out like a garment.
  From the wicked their light is withheld,
      And the upraised arm is broken.
  “Have you entered the springs of the sea?
      Or have you walked in search of the depths?
  Have the gates of death been revealed to you?
      Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?
  Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth?
      Tell Me, if you know all this.
  “Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
      And darkness, where is its place,
  That you may take it to its territory,
      That you may know the paths to its home?
  Do you know it, because you were born then,
      Or because the number of your days is great?
  “Have you entered the treasury of snow,
      Or have you seen the treasury of hail,
  Which I have reserved for the time of trouble,
      For the day of battle and war?
  By what way is light diffused,
      Or the east wind scattered over the earth?
  “Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water,
      Or a path for the thunderbolt,
  To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one,
      A wilderness in which there is no man;
  To satisfy the desolate waste,
      And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?
  Has the rain a father?
      Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
  From whose womb comes the ice?
      And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?
  The waters harden like stone,
      And the surface of the deep is frozen.
  “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,
      Or loose the belt of Orion?
  Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season?
      Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?
  Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?
      Can you set their dominion over the earth?
  “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
      That an abundance of water may cover you?
  Can you send out lightnings, that they may go,
      And say to you, ‘Here we are!’?
  Who has put wisdom in the mind?
      Or who has given understanding to the heart?
  Who can number the clouds by wisdom?
      Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
  When the dust hardens in clumps,
      And the clods cling together?
  “Can you hunt the prey for the lion,
      Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
  When they crouch in their dens,
      Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait?
  Who provides food for the raven,
      When its young ones cry to God,
      And wander about for lack of food?
                Job 38

Saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
                Revelation 14:7

When He made a law for the rain, and a path for the thunderbolt,
                Job 28:26

 “Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young?
      Or can you mark when the deer gives birth?
 Can you number the months that they fulfill?
      Or do you know the time when they bear young?
 They bow down,
      They bring forth their young,
      They deliver their offspring.
 Their young ones are healthy,
      They grow strong with grain;
      They depart and do not return to them.
 “Who set the wild donkey free?
      Who loosed the bonds of the onager,
 Whose home I have made the wilderness,
      And the barren land his dwelling?
 He scorns the tumult of the city;
      He does not heed the shouts of the driver.
 The range of the mountains is his pasture,
      And he searches after every green thing.
 “Will the wild ox be willing to serve you?
      Will he bed by your manger?
  Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?
      Or will he plow the valleys behind you?
  Will you trust him because his strength is great?
      Or will you leave your labor to him?
  Will you trust him to bring home your grain,
      And gather it to your threshing floor?
  “The wings of the ostrich wave proudly,
      But are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?
  For she leaves her eggs on the ground,
      And warms them in the dust;
  She forgets that a foot may crush them,
      Or that a wild beast may break them.
  She treats her young harshly, as though they were not hers;
      Her labor is in vain, without concern,
  Because God deprived her of wisdom,
      And did not endow her with understanding.
  When she lifts herself on high,
      She scorns the horse and its rider.
  “Have you given the horse strength?
      Have you clothed his neck with thunder?
  Can you frighten him like a locust?
      His majestic snorting strikes terror.
  He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
      He gallops into the clash of arms.
  He mocks at fear, and is not frightened;
      Nor does he turn back from the sword.
  The quiver rattles against him,
      The glittering spear and javelin.
  He devours the distance with fierceness and rage;
      Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded.
  At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’
      He smells the battle from afar,
      The thunder of captains and shouting.
  “Does the hawk fly by your wisdom,
      And spread its wings toward the south?
  Does the eagle mount up at your command,
      And make its nest on high?
  On the rock it dwells and resides,
      On the crag of the rock and the stronghold.
  From there it spies out the prey;
      Its eyes observe from afar.
  Its young ones suck up blood;
      And where the slain are, there it is.
                Job 39

 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
      Measured heaven with a span
      And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?
      Weighed the mountains in scales
      And the hills in a balance?
                Isaiah 40:12

   It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
      And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
      Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
      And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
        He brings the princes to nothing;
      He makes the judges of the earth useless.
        Scarcely shall they be planted,
      Scarcely shall they be sown,
      Scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth,
      When He will also blow on them,
      And they will wither,
      And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.
      “ To whom then will you liken Me,
      Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
      Lift up your eyes on high,
      And see who has created these things,
      Who brings out their host by number;
      He calls them all by name,
      By the greatness of His might
      And the strength of His power;
      Not one is missing.
                Isaiah 40:22-26

His lightnings light the world;The earth sees and trembles.
                Psalm 97:4

                Psalm 135:7

When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

 Save me, O God!
         For the waters have come up to my neck.
    I sink in deep mire,
         Where there is no standing;
         I have come into deep waters,
         Where the floods overflow me.
    I am weary with my crying;
         My throat is dry;
         My eyes fail while I wait for my God.

                Psalm 69:1-3

   But as for me, my prayer is to You,
         O LORD, in the acceptable time;
         O God, in the multitude of Your mercy,
         Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.
    Deliver me out of the mire,
         And let me not sink;
         Let me be delivered from those who hate me,
         And out of the deep waters.
    Let not the floodwater overflow me,
         Nor let the deep swallow me up;
         And let not the pit shut its mouth on me.

                Psalm 69:13-15

    Hear me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good;
         Turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.
    And do not hide Your face from Your servant,
         For I am in trouble;
         Hear me speedily.
    Draw near to my soul, and redeem it;
         Deliver me because of my enemies.

                Psalm 69:16-18

    But I am poor and sorrowful;
         Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
    I will praise the name of God with a song,
         And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
    This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bull,
         Which has horns and hooves.
    The humble shall see this and be glad;
         And you who seek God, your hearts shall live.
    For the LORD hears the poor,
         And does not despise His prisoners.

                Psalm 69:29-33

   Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
         Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
         By His name YAH,
         And rejoice before Him.

   A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
         Is God in His holy habitation.
   God sets the solitary in families;
         He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
         But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

                Psalm 68:4-6

   O God, You are my God;
         Early will I seek You;
         My soul thirsts for You;
         My flesh longs for You
         In a dry and thirsty land
         Where there is no water.
   So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
         To see Your power and Your glory.

   Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
         My lips shall praise You.
   Thus I will bless You while I live;
         I will lift up my hands in Your name.
   My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
         And my mouth shall praiseYou with joyful lips.

   When I remember You on my bed,
         I meditate on You in the night watches.
   Because You have been my help,
         Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
   My soul follows close behind You;
         Your right hand upholds me.

FAIREST LORD JESUS

"FAIREST LORD JESUS"
<iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/abgY3pKNJeQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
                Song of Solomon 2:1

You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever.  Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One, with Your glory and Your majesty.
                Psalm 45:2-3

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
                Revelation 22:16

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.  And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts
                II Peter 1:16-19

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You.  For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and He rules over the nations.
                Psalm 22:27-28

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; nor are there any works like Your works.  All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.  For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God.
                Psalm 86:8-10

The LORD is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.

WORSHIP OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
                Colossians 2:13-15

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
                Ephesians 2:4-10

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
                Romans 5:6-10

GOD - A VERY PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE!

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear."
                Psalms 46:1-2

Martin Luther's journal entries inform us of his continual battle against evil forces, and that Psalm 46 was a great comfort to him. As he meditated on the words of Psalm 46, the thrust of a mighty song was born, which openly declared victory in the great battle: "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God."
A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great,
And, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.
The battle to be fought is "not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places"
                Ephesians 6:12

Satan, along with his henchmen, is an ancient foe, "a roaring lion," as it were, "seeking whom he may devour"

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour
                I Peter 5:8

But there is no need for alarm, "the Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge"
                Psalm 46:11

He "is our refuge and strength" - Psalm 46 - a bulwark never failing.

"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil"
                I John 3:8
Only God could accomplish this victory, for Satan is "the prince of this world"

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
                John 14:30

Satan is also "the prince of the power of the air"

Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.
                Ephesians 2:2

No man on earth is his equal.

But how did the Son of God gain the victory? By taking on Himself "flesh and blood," and dying a substitutionary death, "that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil"

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.
                Hebrews 2:14

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

WHY DID JESUS COME TO THIS EARTH?

To do the will of the Father.

Therefore, when He (Jesus) came into the world, He said:
      “ Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
      But a body You have prepared for Me.
         In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
      You had no pleasure.
         Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
      In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
      To do Your will, O God.’”
   Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them ” (which are offered according to the law),  then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.”  He takes away the first that He may establish the second.  By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
                Hebrews 10:5-10

- Jesus came to restore your relationship to God the Father.

- The death of Jesus on the cross is the most important event in history that affects your life directly.

- If you choose to receive Jesus' body and blood as a sacrific for your sins, and are willing to give Him
  your life, then you receive His life.

- Everything about Jesus' mission on Earth is about saving us from our sins.

- The name Jesus means “Jehovah saves”; the word salvation means 'to rescue'.

- Jesus’ name describes His mission and purpose of coming to Earth.

- Jesus gives us the Way, the Truth, and Life.

- Jesus gave us the way to have unity with God.

- His sacrifice made it possible for us to live in God and for God to live in us.

- Ultimately Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost, even His enemies and your enemies.

- Jesus did not come to take sides He came to draw people to His side.

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.  So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
               Matthew 1:21-23

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
                Matthew 3:11-12

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.  Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
                Matthew 5:17-18

When Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.  But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
                Matthew 9:12-13

Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.  For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;  and a man's enemies will be those of his own household.
                Matthew 10:34-36

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.  What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?  And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.  Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.  "Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.  "And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave;  "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
                Matthew 20:25-28

When they found Him, they said to Him, "Everyone is looking for You."  But He said to them, "Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth."
                Mark 1:37-38

When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

"Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;  For my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,  A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel."  And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him.
                Luke 2:29-33

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:  "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;  To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."  Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.  And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
                Luke 4:17-21

Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them;  but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent."
                Luke 4:42-43

And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"  Jesus answered and said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.  "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
                Luke 5:30-32

Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him,

"For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." And they went to another village.

"I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!  "But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!  "Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.  "For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.  "Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law."

"All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.  "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.  "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.  "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
                John 6:37-40

"This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.  "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."  The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"  Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.  "Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.  "For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.  "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.  "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. "This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."  These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.  Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, "This is a hard saying; who can understand it?"  When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, "Does this offend you?  "What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?  "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
                John 6:50-63

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"  He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?"  And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you."  Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him.  And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."

"I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
                John 10:9-11

"I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.  "As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.  "And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.  "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.  "No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father."
                John 10:14-18

But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.  "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.  "He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.  "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.  "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour.  "Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came from heaven, saying, "I have both glorified it and will glorify it again."  Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, "An angel has spoken to Him."   Jesus answered and said, "This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.   "Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.  "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself."  This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
                John 12:23-33

Then Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me.  "And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. {46} "I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.  "And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him; the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.  "For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.  "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."
                John 12:44-50

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  "And where I go you know, and the way you know."  Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."  Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us."  Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?  "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.   "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.   "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.   "If you love Me, keep My commandments.  "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever;  "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

"A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.   "At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.  "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."   Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"   Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.   "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.   "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.   "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.  "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  "You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, 'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I.

"These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.   "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you;  "for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.   "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father."
                John 16:25-28

"And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.   "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.  "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You.   "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
                John 17:5-8

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."   Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
                John 18:36-37

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: "We ought to obey God rather than men.  "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.  "Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.   "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."
                Acts 5:29-32

"And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.  "To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins."  While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
                Acts 10:42-44

"Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come;  "that the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."
                Acts 26:22-23

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.  For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
                Romans 5:8-10

For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;  and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
                II Corinthians 5:14-15

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,  to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
                Galations 4:4-7

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
                I Timothy 1:15

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.   For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
                Hebrews 2:17-18

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
